How does MiRO Academy Work? FAQ

MiRO Academy’s mission is to make ICT Training accessible to anyone, anywhere and at anytime.  

You can take courses across a wide range of categories like Zero-to-Hero Fundamental trainings, Free Webinars and Technical related trainings with brand specific configuration lessons.

Here are answers to some of the Frequently Asked Questions on how MiRO Academy works.

What do MiRO Academy courses include?

The MiRO Academy courses are split across 4 main categories, namely: Zero-to-Hero, Technical Training, Live Online Training and Free Webinars.

The Zero-to-Hero trainings are fundamentals trainings that aims to provide you with the knowledge on a specific field within the ICT industry and remains brand agnostic.  For example, Zero-to-Hero: Understanding Wireless focuses on concepts such as understanding Radio Frequency, it’s behaviour, wavelengths, channel width etc. all the way to how this information is implements in Point to Point and Point to Multipoint solutions.

The Technical Trainings are designed in such a way to provide you with hands-on experience on how to configure, install and troubleshoot the products on offer from MiRO.  For example, the EdgeOS Technical training aims to provide you with a product overview, initial connection and configuration all the way to more advanced configuration like DHCP and NAT.

The Live Online Trainings is where you can book your seat for a Live, Online hosted certified training on brands like RADWIN, Grandstream, Cambium and MikroTik to name a few.  These trainings are hosted by our internationally certified trainers and has moved from a class-room based training to an online environment, making certified trainings more accessible to a larger audience.

The Free Webinars are previously hosted webinar sessions by our Product Marketing team that focuses on solutions specific information and product overview on brands.  These webinars are recorded and loaded onto MiRO Academy so that you can always be in the know on latest technological developments and trends.

How do I take a MiRO Academy Course?

MiRO Academy online courses are on demand.

This means on successful purchase of the course or online subscription, you can access these trainings at anytime, from anywhere.  Whether on your mobile device or on a laptop, the trainings are all video based and designed to used the minimum amount of bandwidth. 

Is MiRO Academy an accredited institution?

While MiRO Academy is not an accredited institution, we offer skills-based courses taught by experts in their field, and every paid course features a certificate of completion to document your accomplishment.  For the Live Online Trainings, our trainers do hold International Vendor certification as trainers, and as such, you will receive internationally certification for the successful completion of these courses.

Is there any way to preview a course

Short answer, Yes!  Each course has a sample lesson or introduction video where the trainer will go through the topics of the course, what you can expect from the course and the intended outcomes.

How can I pay for a course?

MiRO Academy supports 2 options for paying for a course. 

Option 1.  Purchase the course you are interested in once off, the payment is processed securely through our payment gateway PayFast.

Option 2.  Sign up for a monthly subscription of either basic or expert elvel and gain access to fundamentals, or fundamentals and technical trainings online for the duration that your subscription remains active.  Subscriptions are also processed through our secure online payment gateway, PayFast.

Online Exams

Most of the online and technical courses does have an online quiz or exam that must be completed before you obtain your certificate of completion.  You get up to 3 tries to successfully pass the exam with the required mark of 80%.  Should you require further assistance on online exams, please get in touch with the trainer directly or through training@miro.co.za

Lost Password

If you have lost or forgotten your password, just nagivate to the login option on the main menu, click on the login option and click on forget password.  This will prompt a password reset that will be emailed to your registered email address.  Still struggling, please contact training@miro.co.za and provide relevant information for further assistance.

Cancel Subscription

If you want to cancel your subscription, please send a mail to training@miro.co.za.  Please note that once the subscription has been cancelled, you will no longer have access to the courses that you have enrolled for.
